Travelers’ Timesheet Information
*Travelers will use two methods to keep track of the hours they work:
1. Write down the hours on the timesheets provided by your agency.
2. Swipe in/out with your ID badge in the Kronos time clocks.
*Timesheets should always be left in your mailbox. NEVER TAKE TIMESHEETS
HOME WITH YOU.
*Give completed timesheets to your nurse manager.
*Do not swipe in any earlier than 5 minutes before the start of your shift (6:55),
or swipe out later than 5 minutes after the end of your shift (7:35), without approval
of your manager.
*You must take a 30 minute meal break, or get approval from your nurse manager
if no break is taken.
*Portions of hours should be tracked as follows:
15 minutes = .25 hours
30 minutes = .5 hours
45 minutes = .75 hours
Contact Hour Requirements
Number of required contact hours in Florida needed to maintain nursing license is 25 within a
two year period.
State Mandatory Contact Hours:
- HIV/AIDS and Domestic Violence: no longer required for initial licensure
- HIV/AIDS CE is now a one-time, 1-hour CE requirement to be completed prior to the
first renewal (if you have taken a 1-hour course on HIV/AIDS, you have completed the
requirement), and
- Domestic Violence CE is now a 2-hour requirement every third renewal. For example,
if you renew your license on January 31, 2007, you are required to complete the
Domestic Violence CE before the January 31, 2011 renewal.
*Mandatory programs require a Florida State Board of Nursing Provider Number.
*Retain your contact hour certificates for at least 4 years.
*State Board encourages contact hours within your specialty, but not a
requirement.
*College credits count toward contact hours as long as it is a nursing related
class-for every 1 credit you take in college, you receive 15 contact hours.
