Ministry Formation Information

NOTE: **HCMG Associates will have a Ministry Formation program specifically designed for them.  They do NOT have to take the Ministry Formation program currently in place. Be on the look out for announcement about the program.

For all Associates, a curriculum of four (4) ministry formation courses is embedded into the ongoing education within the organization. The four (4) courses are to be completed within the first three years of employment.

  • Options for completing the Ministry Formation requirements:
    - Attend program facilitated by your director
    - Attend program facilitated by a Legacy leader
    - Attend a Live class
    The following are the 4 Ministry Formation courses:
  1. Circle of Mercy: The life of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy (sponsors of Holy Cross Hospital).
  2. Catholic Social Teaching: Review the gift of Catholic Social Teachings to the ministry of healthcare.
  3. Servant Leadership: Explore the nature of servant leadership and characteristics of a servant leader.
  4. What it Means to be a Merscy Leader: Fundamental requirements and non-negotiables of service at Holy Cross Hospital.

Tracking completion of ALL 4 Ministry Formation requirements

Note: Associates who have completed all 4 courses are recommended to take one program offered in the School of Spiritual Development in 2012.


Workplace Spirituality

Workplace Spirituality programs are live seminars and workshops, some of which include:

  • Caregiver Series
  • Aging as a Spiritual Journey
  • Strategies for Success
  • Forgiveness Conference
  • Appreciating Religious Traditions
  • Self Discovery Seminar ... and much more.

Legacy Institute

The Legacy Institute was created to develop a community of spiritually mature, effective, and competent leaders for carrying Holy Cross Health Ministries into the future. The Legacy Institute will provide the academic and experiential learning needed to support the spirituality and leadership skills of competent, confident Legacy Leaders.
